Arcana Lodge # 246 F&AM was founded in 1852 and has continually operated since that time. The following information appears in the proceedings of the Grand Lodge of Free And Accepted Masons of New York dated 1911: ARCAN A LODGE, NO. 246. NEW YORK CITY. WARRANT: The warrant in possession of the Lodge is dated March 25, 1852. The name or number has never been changed. Minutes: Intact.

On September 19th 1942, Brother Seymour Morton Schatzberg was killed in combat , while fighting as part of the Royal Canadian Air Force against nazism and fascism. The Seymour Morton Schaumberg Fund, was created to honour and pay tribute to brother Schatzberg who was raised in Arcana Lodge #246 on May 14th 1940.

This Lodge having ben duly constituted shall be hailed and entitled ARCANA LODGE NO. 246, FREE AND ACCEPTED MASONS,' and shall possess all the powers and privileges of a Lodge holding a legal and un-reclaimed charter duly chartered by THE GRAND LODGE OF FREE AND ACCEPTED MASONS OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK on March 6th, 1852.
